We are seeking candidates in the following areas: 

Piping Project Engineer - Assists with design and build of industrial heat processing equipment.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Prepare drawings for various piping systems (combustion, cooling, atmosphere control, pneumatics, etc.) of custom heat treat furnaces in accordance with sales and customer requests.
  • Develop schematic layouts and details of piping systems for heat treat furnaces.
  • Specify components for purchasing.
  • Meet with customers and sales staff to determine equipment requirements and installation conditions.
  • Assist field personnel and repair of furnaces.
  • Perform fit calculations.
  • Perform flow and heat transfer calculations.
  • Prepare charts, graphs, and appropriate drawings that are needed.
  • Participate in structured problem solving activities to resolve internal and external problems.
  • Work with electrical staff to complete design of equipment.
  • Communicate with vendors and inspect purchased equipment and fabrications.
  • Inspect equipment at manufacturing facility.
  • Travel to customer locations to assist field crew at installation, start-up or to provide support.
  • Maintain engineering job file.
  • Conform to all policies and procedures of the company.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor of Science in Engineering degree desirable, all education considered.
  • Mandatory experience with AutoCAD drawing software, MS Word and MS Excel.
  • Experience designing, assembling, or maintaining equipment containing piping systems (heating, cooling, or other) would be desirable.
  • Experience with MS Word and MS Excel.
  • Minimum math skills to incude high school level algebra.
  • Basic writing and composition skills.
  • Strong problem solving and critical thinking skills.

 

Field ServiceTechnician - This individual will be responsible for managing and supervising the off-loading, placement and assembly of Heat Treat related equipment when it arrives at our customer's facilities, and commissioning equipment after installation.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Validation of equipment design and reassembly per engineering drawings, operating instructions, vendor literature and applicable specifications.
  • Provide direction in resolving non-contractural customer and contractor issues.
  • Document all problems encountered during the installation of the equipment and the status/verification of field revisions.
  • Check-out of all mechanical, electrical and piping sub-systems, ensuring the overall system and individual components operate safely and as designed per engineering drawings, operating instructions, vendor literature and applicable specifications.
  • Provide direction in resolving non-contractural customer and contractor issues.
  • Document all problems encountered during the start-up of the equipment and the status/verification of field revisions.
  • Assist customer personnel with the initial operation and testing of processes performed by the equipment.
  • Train customer personnel in the safe, efficient operation and maintenance of the equipment.
  • Provide frequent reports and check lists, detailing progress, planned dates for major tasks and all open issues.
  • Collect and submit all parameters changed and data obtained during the final commissioning of the equipment.
  • Complete other assorted tasks and assignments as directed by your supervisor.
  • Follow company ISO required procedures.
  • Utilize good verbal and written communications.

Education, Knowledge and Experience Requirements:

  • Technical degree is desirable but not mandatory.
  • Requires extensive travel (95%+), both domestic and international (ability to obtain passport required).
  • Ability to work safely and unsupervised.
  • Good verbal and written communications skills.
  • Provide technical direction to contractors.
  • Participate in planning/organization of customer and contractor tasks.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and welding experience.
  • Hands on experience performing troubleshooting of electrical, mechanical, combustion and piping systems.
  • Good working knowledge of industrial electrical control systems.
  • Able to work well in a team environment.
  • Experience working with and troubleshooting PLC programs would be beneficial.
  • Willing to enhance skills and gain additional knowledge through company-provided training classes.
