 Job Title: Electrical Project Engineer

Responsibilities:  

  • Develops control schematics using AutoCad Electrical based upon equipment and customer specifications.

  • Develops and issues Bills of Materials.

  • Develops PLC and HMI programs.

  • Performs various engineering calculations.

  • Provides Manufacturing and Start-up assistance when required.

  • Design and work with systems utilizing discrete (PID) process controllers.

  • Provide summaries of equipment operation to be used by technical writers.

  • Operate computer-assisted engineering or design software or equipment to perform engineering tasks.

  • Prepare technical drawings, specifications of electrical systems, or topographical maps to ensure that installation and operations conform to standards and customer requirements.

  • Confer with engineers, customers, or others to discuss existing or potential engineering projects or products.

  • Design, implement, maintain, or improve electrical instruments, equipment, facilities, components, products, or systems for commercial, industrial, or domestic purposes.

  • Direct or coordinate manufacturing, construction, installation, maintenance, support, documentation, or testing activities to ensure compliance with specifications, codes, or customer requirements.

  • Prepare plans with detailed drawings that include project specifications and cost estimates.

  • Design and execute engineering experiments to create workable solutions.

  • Develop engineering calculations, diagrams and technical reports

  • Complete required technical and regulatory documents

  • Ensure projects are completed on-time and within the specified budget

  • Present analysis results and project solutions to technical leads, senior leaders and clients as necessary

  • Able to travel to jobsite to assist with start-up of equipment when required to do so.

  • Able to work well in a team environment

  

Qualifications/ Experience Required:

  • Bachelors in Electrical Engineering or related Technical Degree

  • Position requires some travel to customer heat treat facilities, both nationally and internationally, to assist in system debug and start up as necessary. Ability to obtain passport is required and the ability to travel worldwide.

Must have 3-5 years of experience with much or all of the following:

  • Good working knowledge of the design of industrial electrical control systems.

  • Good working knowledge of the NFPA 70 Standard (National Electric Code) including fuse and wire sizing.

  • Good working knowledge of the NFPA 79 Standard (Electrical Standard for Industrial Machinery).

  • Experience with motor control circuits including designing circuits, sizing and specifying components and hands-on troubleshooting.

  • Experience with relay control circuits.

  • PLC hardware and software experience including sizing and specifying components, developing hardwiring drawings, writing PLC logic, testing, programming and system troubleshooting.

  • Knowledge and experience developing HMI screens using sofware such as Allen-Bradley factorytalk View.

  • Experience applying variable speed drives

  • Industrial network experience (Ethernet, Profibus, Modbus, DH+, etc.)

  • Working Knowledge of AutoCad Electrical

 


Job Title:  Pre-Shipment Technician

Qualifications/ Experience Required:


• Technical degree desirable but not mandatory.
• Hands on experience performing troubleshooting of electrical, mechanical, combustion and piping systems.
• Experience with relay control circuits.
• Trainable PLC programming capabilities.
• Good working knowledge of industrial electrical control systems.
• Strong problem solving and critical thinking skills.
• Able to work well in a team environment.


Responsibilities:


• Inspect equipment at manufacturing facility - locally and abroad
• Check-out of all mechanical, electrical and piping sub-systems, ensuring the overall system and individual components operate safely and as designed per engineering drawings, operating instructions, vendor literature and applicable specifications.
• Document all problems encountered during the pre-shipment testing of the equipment.
• Troubleshoot alarm messages from the PLC, furnace part recipes, and part tracking.
• Startup/troubleshoot HMI and equipment operation.
• Investigate equipment failures or difficulties to diagnose faulty operation and recommend remedial actions.
• Recommend design modifications to eliminate machine or system malfunctions.
• Provide feedback to design engineers on problems.


Provide frequent reports and checklists, detailing progress, planned dates for major tasks and all open issues.


Job Title: Pipe Fitter 

Responsibilities:

Overall the Pipe Fitter is responsible for layout and general piping of water, pneumatic and gas control components used on capital equipment machinery as well as installation and piping of controls of these systems. 

  •  Pipe welding

  • Ability to troubleshoot controls and systems.

  • Able to interpret engineering drawings and successfully layout equipment according to prints

  • Team player, able to take direction and be self-directed when needed

  • Ability to climb in overhead structures, to work beneath machines and in close quarters.

  • High regard for safety standards

  • Review scope documents, drawings, and specifications.

  • Participate in team building activities.

  • Maintain strict adherence to the policies set forth in the QC manual.

  • Follow oral and written directions.

  • Work within company policy as outlined in the Human Resources Policy Manual , Safety Manual.

  • Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor as needed. 

Qualifications/ Experience Required:

  • Must have High School Diploma
  • Must have knowledge of piping tools and machines used in manufacturing including setting break press and Shear.
  • Must be proficient in installation of threaded pipe and bending tube
  • 3 years of experience as Pipe Fitter
  • Must have working command of the English language and be able to effectively communicate 
  • Knowledge of combustion systems will be a plus 


 Job Title: IT and Database Administrator

 Qualifications/ Experience Required:

• BS in Computer Science, Information Technology or a related field, or equivalent professional experience or certifications.
• Windows Network Administration.
• Ideal candidate has experience with Oracle PL/SQL; those having extensive developer experience in other database platforms (Microsoft SQL Server, MySQL, etc.) may apply.
• Website administration experience a plus (Internet Information Server, Apachi, etc.).
• Programming, analytical, organizational and problem solving skills.
• Attention to detail and adherence to company and department policies and procedures.
• Ability to interface and work well with all levels of staff while maintaining confidentiality.


Responsibilities:


This position oversees 3 Detroit area locations with the following responsibilities. This position may involve working with the company’s corporate parent company (AHG), and IT colleagues throughout the world, including participation in setting global IT standards, and the implementation of such standards as adopted by local management.


• Windows network administration.
• Microsoft Exchange Server administration.
• Oracle database administration, including programming Oracle forms and reports.
• Oversee network security.
• Perform frequent network backups and test data recovery processes periodically or as requested.
• Maintain and oversee disaster recovery plans to reduce risk of data loss.
• Assist with IT planning and continuous improvement.
• Identify and resolve data and/or system vulnerabilities.

Job Title: Fabricator- Welder

Responsibilities:


Verify conformance of work pieces to specifications, using squares, rulers, and measuring tapes.
• Align and fit parts according to specifications, using jacks, turnbuckles, wedges, drift pins, pry bars, and hammers.
• Move parts into position, manually or with hoists or cranes.
• Position, align, fit, and weld parts to form complete units or subunits, following blueprints and layout specifications, and using jigs, welding torches, and hand tools.
• Study engineering drawings and blueprints to determine materials requirements and task sequences.
• Set up and operate fabricating machines, such as brakes, rolls, shears, flame cutters, grinders, and drill presses, to bend, cut, form, punch, drill, or otherwise form and assemble metal components.
• Lay out and examine metal stock or workpieces to be processed to ensure that specifications are met.
• Tack-weld fitted parts together.
• Lift or move materials and finished products, using large cranes.
• Remove high spots and cut bevels, using portable grinders, and cutting torches.
• Set up face blocks, jigs, and fixtures.
• Position or tighten braces, jacks, clamps, or bolt straps, or bolt parts in position for welding.
• Locate and mark work piece bending and cutting lines, allowing for stock thickness, machine and welding shrinkage, and other component specifications.
• Hammer, chip, and grind work pieces to cut, bend, and straighten metal.
• Straighten warped or bent parts, using sledges, hand torches, straightening presses, or bulldozers.
Preheat work pieces to make them malleable, using hand torches or furnaces.

Job Title:  Assembly- Millwright

Responsibilities:

  • Insert shims, adjust tension on nuts and bolts, or position parts, using hand tools and measuring instruments, to set specified clearances between moving and stationary parts.
  • Establish centerline, using straightedge, levels, and transit.
  • Align machines or equipment, using hoists, jacks, hand tools, squares, rules, micrometers, lasers, or plumb bobs.
  • Assemble and install equipment, using hand tools and power tools.
  • Signal crane operator to lower basic assembly units to bedplate, and align unit to centerline.
  • Attach moving parts and subassemblies to basic assembly unit, using hand tools and power tools.
  • Assemble machines, and bolt, weld, rivet, or otherwise fasten them to foundation or other structures, using hand tools and power tools.
  • Lay out mounting holes, using measuring instruments, and drill holes with power drill.
  • Position steel beams to support bedplates of machines and equipment, using blueprints and schematic drawings, to determine work procedures.
  • Move machinery and equipment, using hoists, dollies, rollers, and trucks.
  • Dismantle machinery and equipment for shipment to installation site.
  • Weld, repair, and fabricate equipment or machinery.
  • Dismantle machines, using hammers, wrenches, crowbars, and other hand tools.
  • Fabricate and dismantle parts, equipment, and machines, using a cutting torch or other cutting equipment.
  • Bolt parts, such as side and deck plates, jaw plates, and journals, to basic assembly unit.
  • Troubleshoot equipment and other mechanical systems.
  • Connect power unit to machines and test unit to evaluate its mechanical operation.

Job Title:  Machinist

Responsibilities:

  • Calculate dimensions or tolerances, using instruments such as micrometers or vernier calipers.
  • Machine parts to specifications, using machine tools, such as lathes, milling machines, shapers, or grinders.
  • Set up, adjust, or operate basic or specialized machine tools used to perform precision machining operations.
  • Align and secure holding fixtures, cutting tools, attachments, accessories, or materials onto machines.
  • Measure, examine, or test completed units to check for defects and ensure conformance to specifications, using precision instruments, such as micrometers.
  • Monitor the feed and speed of machines during the machining process.
  • Maintain machine tools in proper operational condition.
  • Operate equipment to verify operational efficiency.
  • Diagnose machine tool malfunctions to determine need for adjustments or repairs.
  • Fit and assemble parts to make or repair machine tools.
  • Dispose of scrap or waste material in accordance with company policies and environmental regulations. 
  • Separate scrap waste and related materials for reuse, recycling, or disposal. 
  • Evaluate machining procedures and recommend changes or modifications for improved efficiency or adaptability.
  • Use hand tools or power tools to examine parts for defects and replace defective parts where needed.
  • Install repaired parts into equipment or install new equipment.
  • Support metalworking projects from planning and fabrication through assembly, inspection, and testing, using knowledge of machine functions, metal properties and mathematics.
