A global Tier One automotive supplier has placed an order with AFC-Holcroft for a production gas modernization project involving the purchase of new multiple-retort E-Z Series endothermic generators.The facility receiving the equipment is located in Mexico.
The E-Z Series endothermic generators will provide the customer with a lower cost gas production option than their existing nitrogen/methanol systems. The return on investment for the new endothermic gas generators is typically less than two years.
Production furnaces in the facility will keep their existing nitrogen/methanol gas systems, but the operator will now be able to switch between nitrogen/methanol supply or the less expensive endothermic gas produced by the new E-Z generators.
Multiple furnaces consisting of pusher lines, batch integral quench units and mesh belt furnaces will be field retrofit to receive this lower-cost gas option. AFC-Holcroft will provide the following new E-Z Series endothermic gas generators: two (2) 13,500 CFH units each equipped with an additional 4,500 CFH expansion module and one (1) 13,500 CFH unit. Each E-Z Series generator will be equipped with a back-up mixture and blower.Three (3) endothermic gas header distribution systems will also be field installed for endo supply into the existing production furnaces.
To minimize downtime during the project, the work is provided as a “continuous flow” project, spread across three (3) phases to provide the customer with uninterrupted project flow schedule.
