Controlled Atmosphere Aluminum Brazing (CAAB®)
Patented energy-saving CAAB® design – efficiency and quality redefined

Built on decades of experience, AFC-Holcroft’s CAAB® furnaces are available in both traditional and energy-saving configurations. The new design eliminates the conventional full muffle, integrates a stainless steel internal shroud extended beyond the braze zone, and ensures complete flux activation within the controlled atmosphere. These innovations, combined with modular access and quick-change heating elements, deliver major energy reductions, faster startups, and easier maintenance — without compromising brazing quality.

Additional technical features

  • Up to 40% reduction in energy consumption in normal production

  • Startup to operating temperature in only 3 hours from cold start

  • Extended internal stainless steel shroud for improved flux activation

  • Curtains at both ends maintain low oxygen levels with minimal nitrogen use

  • Multiple access doors for maintenance convenience

  • Quick-change heating elements — replaceable without full line shutdown

  • Elimination of muffle — no “hump clean-out” due to flux buildup

  • Air or water jacket cooling zones divided for precise control
